The fourth annual Bordentown PorchFest is set rain or shine Saturday, May 3.
It’s a free, family-friendly event featuring musicians of different genres, playing free mini-concerts on porches throughout Bordentown City. Sixteen porches are on tap. PorchFest is a day-long celebration from noon to 5 p.m. of music, art and community where people can stroll from porch to porch in the city’s quaint and historic “one square mile” and enjoy live, local talent.
The Kiwanis Club of Bordentown organizes the PorchFest every year.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time, according to its website. The Kiwanis Club of Bordentown fulfills the Kiwanis mission by serving its community through Kiwanis Community Service Projects.
Whether collecting socks for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen or helping St. Mary’s Food Pantry and Trinity’s Table with food donations, the Kiwanis Club looks out for its community. Additionally, they are one of the sponsoring community groups for Bordentown Outreach Meals each Thanksgiving, where over 600 meals are prepared and delivered to Bordentown and neighboring communities.
