Man faces weapons charges in dormitory incident

A 20-year-old Florham Park man who confronted another person at a Rider University dormitory is facing weapons offenses and other charges, according to the Lawrence Township Police Department.

The man was charged with trespassing, aggravated assault and weapons offenses in the incident at Olson Dormitory, which was reported at 11:06 p.m. March 30, police said.

Police were called to investigate a report of a man in possession of a firearm. The investigation revealed that it involved a confrontation between two people and was an isolated incident. There were no injuries, police said.

The suspect fled before police arrived, but based on the investigation, the man was identified and charged.
