The Mercer County Association of School Administrators (MCASA) has recognized Hopewell Valley Regional School District (HVRSD)’s Chief School Administrator, Dr. Rosetta Treece, as the 2026 Mercer County Superintendent of the Year.
Treece has proudly served Mercer County and the Hopewell Valley Regional School District as Superintendent for the past five years.
In addition to focusing on policy and student achievement, Treece has adopted a deeply holistic approach to educational leadership.
Grounded in the belief that a school thrives only when its community feels seen, Treece has dedicated her career in public education to elevate and recognize the unique stories of students, teachers, and families alike.
Among Dr. Treece’s numerous accomplishments includes actively engaging the HVRSD community through a campaign to successfully pass an $84 million referendum, initiating the HVRSD Sustainability Strategic Plan, which included the installation of six rain gardens and a farm share partnership with a local farm, collaborating with the HVRSD community and Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance to continue the Digital Wellness Initiative to bring digital literacy, wellness, and balance to classrooms and homes, and the Beyond the Page Initiative with local public libraries to identify a shared community “Big Read” and related author visit.
Under Treece’s leadership HVRSD has continued its partnership with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for bias-prevention education, and strengthened its restorative circles program, which empowers student leaders to address conflict and promote inclusivity among peers.
Furthermore, as part of the Digital Wellness Initiative, the district has trained hundreds of students, staff, and parents annually in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
In addition, HVRSD continued the annual Witness Stones Project, which asks 8th grade students to research the lives of enslaved individuals who once lived in the Hopewell Valley community and restore their stories to the historical record.
