The U.S. Navy’s contemporary music ensemble Rhode Island Sound will return to Allentown for a free concert Sunday, Oct. 18, at Allentown High School.

The concert, presented by the Allentown Village Initiative (TAVI), will begin at 3 p.m. in the school auditorium at 27 High St.

Rhode Island Sound, the Navy’s premier contemporary music ensemble, performs a mix of classic rock, rhythm and blues, current popular music and Top 40 hits.

The group recently performed aboard the USS Nimitz in New York Harbor during Fourth of July celebrations and will bring its high-energy show to Allentown as part of a return appearance sponsored by TAVI.

The concert is open to the public, and admission is free.

The event is made possible in part by a grant from Monmouth Arts, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners.
