Construction on Beechwood Drive and Hutchinson Road in Robbinsville is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Oct. 13, as part of a roadway improvement project that will include paving, sidewalk repairs and accessibility upgrades.

Earle Asphalt Co. will begin with concrete curb and sidewalk improvements, with the initial work expected to take approximately five business days, weather permitting. Construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Township records indicate the contract was awarded to Earle Asphalt for approximately $540,113.

According to the construction schedule, milling and paving are expected to take place on Beechwood Drive Tuesday, Oct. 20, and Wednesday, Oct. 21, and on Hutchinson Road Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 22.

The project includes roadway milling and resurfacing, pavement repairs, new pavement markings and signs, and improvements intended to meet Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility requirements. The township anticipates completing the overall project in November.

Traffic will be restricted during construction, although access to homes and businesses will be maintained. Emergency vehicles and school transportation vehicles will also have access through the work areas as needed.

Residents are being asked to move all vehicles off the affected roads between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. during construction. Vehicles left in designated work areas may be towed.

Motorists should follow posted detours, construction signs and directions from Robbinsville police officers assigned to traffic control.

The contractor also advises motorists that tack oil, an adhesive material used before paving, will be applied to the road surface. Drivers should avoid traveling over the material because it could damage their vehicles.

Any damage to personal property during construction should be reported to an Earle Asphalt supervisor on the day of the incident.

For additional information, residents can contact Earle Asphalt at 732-308-1113, ext. 235.
