Middlesex College hosted a ceremonial beam signing and site tour to celebrate the construction progress of the Nayan and Bindu Dalal Center for the Arts. The Center will bring quality, accessible expressions of art to the Middlesex County community thanks to a generous $2 million gift from the Dalal Family Foundation.

“When we made our commitment to this project, we envisioned a vibrant performing arts center that would inspire students, welcome the community and provide a home for extraordinary artistic experiences,” said Nayan Dalal. “Watching that vision move from plans on paper to a physical reality has been tremendously exciting. We are proud to be part of this important chapter in Middlesex College’s future.”

The renovations, which are set to be completed in Spring 2027, include a refreshed lobby with new lighting, flooring, and accent walls as well as a reimagined reception area that will feature new furniture and state-of-the-art audiovisual screens. The exterior of the Center will welcome audiences with a modernized entrance wall, lighting, and upgraded landscaping. The theater’s upgrades will provide guests with a more intimate and inviting experience.

“Middlesex College is in a period of transformative growth.  The renovation of our Performing Arts Center made possible by a generous donation from the Dalal Family Foundation allows us to reimagine what that space can be and how it can serve our students and the community,” said Middlesex College President Mark McCormick. “We are grateful to Nayan and Bindu Dalal for their generous support of this project and look forward to celebrating with them and the entire Middlesex College community when the Nayan and Bindu Dalal Center for the Arts opens in the new year.  Thanks as well to the Middlesex College Foundation for forging partnerships like the one with the Dalal family that help the College provide our students with state-of-the-art venues for learning, gathering, and expressing their creativity.”

The Dalal Family has supported Middlesex College for over a decade through scholarships and other programs.

“Seeing this project take shape is incredibly rewarding,” said Bindu Dalal. “Our commitment was rooted in a belief that Middlesex College deserves a performing arts center that reflects the talent, creativity, and aspirations of the community. We are thrilled to see that vision becoming a reality and look forward to the many performances, artists, and memories that will fill this space for generations to come.”
