The Somerset County Park Commission announced its annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks to be held at North Branch Park in Bridgewater. This year’s concert will be held on Friday, July 3 The Park gates will open at 6 p.m. for families to set up blankets, chairs, and other picnic items in preparation for the community celebration and the fireworks display at 9:30 p.m.
“The Park Commission’s Independence Day fireworks are a true celebration of our nation, and it will be even more special on this 250th anniversary of America’s founding,” said Somerset County Deputy Director Paul M. Drake, liaison to the Park Commission. “It is especially appropriate that these fireworks will fill the skies only miles from where the Continental Army wintered at the Middlebrook Encampment, and where Washington and his top Generals were housed during the winters following the signing of the Declaration of Independence.”
The NJ 3rd Regiment Revolutionary War encampment reenactors will be on site to demonstrate New Jersey’s vital place in helping the Continental Army delivery victory in the Revolutionary War.
Vehicular access via Milltown Road will be prohibited once the parking lot is full or at 8:30 p.m., whichever comes first, but foot traffic will be permitted throughout the event. Attendees will be allowed to exit to Route 202 at all times during the event.
Suit and Mai Tai will perform memorable hits of the decades from the 70s up to the latest chart toppers from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Suit and Mai Tai brings the smooth sounds of yacht rock to life – then cranks it up with a fresh, unexpected edge. With a large following across New Jersey, this seven-piece band has become a staple at top clubs, outdoor festivals, and exclusive private events with a high-energy, sonically rich show that turns nostalgia into a full-on experience.
The event will feature more than fifteen food trucks. Picnic baskets are permitted, but alcohol is prohibited. Personal drones and fireworks are not allowed.
The Independence Day Fireworks kicks off the 2026 Summer Concert Series which will then move to Duke Island Park each Sunday until August 9th. From classic rock to Motown, country to new wave, each concert promises a memorable summer experience. Admission and parking are free for the following shows that run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.:
· July 12: Arena Flashback (Arena Rock)
· July 19: The TeeTones (Motown)
· July 26: Whiskey & Roses (Country)
· August 2: Starman (David Bowie Tribute)
· August 9: High in the Mid 80’s (80’s Pop)
