A 42-year-old man is facing numerous charges, including lewdness, burglary and theft for incidents that occurred over a two-day period, according to the Princeton Police Department.

The man’s first encounter with police officers occurred at 1:39 p.m. on Oct. 8, when officers were sent to Nassau Street near Witherspoon Street to investigate reports of a man exposing his genitals in public.

He was charged with lewdness and was also found to have an active warrant from the Bordentown Township Municipal Court for $1,500. He was processed and released.

Also on Oct. 8, he was charged with theft for taking a children’s toy bug catcher from the front porch of a Bayard Lane home. He was identified through surveillance video. He was charged on a complaint summons.

The next day, the man had several encounters with police that resulted in two counts each of burglary and theft filed against him in separate incidents. He was also charged with urinating in public.

At 3:27 a.m. Oct. 9, police responded to a North Tulane Street residence on the report of a burglary. The victim told police that he encountered the man inside the house, holding a kitchen knife. The man left the house after the resident confronted him.

Police located him and charged him with burglary and theft.

Four hours later at 7:21 a.m., police were sent to a Wiggins Street residence for a report of an unwanted man sleeping in a second-floor hallway. He was wearing a resident’s running shoes, which were valued at $110.

He was charged with burglary and theft, and also issued a summons for urinating in public.

He was processed and taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center.
