The Princeton Council has awarded a contract for $453,988 to S. Brothers Inc. for improvements to Ross Stevenson Circle, off Mount Lucas Road.
S. Brothers Inc. submitted the lowest bid from among six contractors vying for the job. The bids ranged from S. Brothers Inc.’s low bid of $453,988 to a high bid of $566,342.
Ross Stevenson Circle has not had any major pavement improvements since before 2000, according to a memorandum to the Mayor and Princeton Council from Deputy Administrator Deanna Stockton.
The project calls for a mill-and-overlay, which means removing the top layer of asphalt and applying a new coat of asphalt. Concrete curb repairs and ramp construction that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is also part of the project.
Storm sewer piping will be replaced, and storm sewer inlets also will be retrofitted. Pavement striping and signage replacement also will be done, officials said.
